How do I filter interactions by language?

There are several different targets that can be used to filter interactions by language, including the target-agnostic Language Augmentation.

Language Augmentation

Note: The language augmentation is capable of identifying several dozen languages

Twitter

Interaction

The language filters used in a query are dependent on the data source(s) being filtered. At the time of this writing, Twitter is the only Data Source with its own language targets. The interaction.author.language target therefore maps to the three Twitter user language targets listed above. Other Data Sources are limited to using the language.tag target for language filtering.

Examples:

Filtering for Dutch tweets about Starbucks:

( ( language.tag in "nl" AND language.confidence > 90 )
OR twitter.lang in "nl"
OR twitter.retweet.lang in "nl" )
AND interaction.content contains "Starbucks"
AND interaction.type in "twitter"

Filtering for Swedish Facebook Public messages and captions containing futbol (soccer):

( language.tag in "sv" AND
language.confidence > 90 )
AND (
facebook.message contains "futbol"
OR facebook.caption contains "futbol"
)

Filtering for (self-identified) Danish speaking twitter users tweeting about kaffe (coffee):

( ( language.tag in "da" AND language.confidence > 90 )
OR interaction.author.language in "da" )
AND interaction.content contains "kaffe"
AND interaction.type in "twitter"
